Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I always hate this question because I don’t think I’m that interesting! I live on a small ranch near Missoula, Montana. I winter at the beach in California–best of both worlds! I’m married to L.J. Martin, also a writer, which makes for an interesting life. I’m a workaholic. INTO THE WHIRLWIND, my new Romantic Suspense, will be my 68th published novel. Of those, the last thirteen have hit somewhere in the top 15 on the New York Times bestseller list. INTO THE FURY, my last book, was #7 on the list.
Tell us a little bit about your current projects?
I have a new book out, I’m excited to say. INTO THE WHIRLWIND is the second book in my BOSS Inc. trilogy. It’s Megan O’Brien and Dirk Reynolds’s story. When Meg’s three-year-old son is kidnapped, the former lingerie model goes to the only man she trusts, private investigator, Dirk Reynolds, the man who was once her bodyguard and still owns her heart. Desperate for Dirk’s help, Meg is willing to risk everything to save little Charlie.
After that, INTO THE FIRESTORM, Luke Brodie’s story will be out–so lots going on for me.
Is there anything special you want us to know about INTO THE WHIRLWIND?
This book is one of my personal favorites. I love the interaction between Meg and Dirk. I love how strong the emotions are between the two characters and also the interaction between Dirk and Meg’s little three year old son, Charlie, who gets kidnapped in the book. I’m hoping readers will really like this one.
You have written several series. Which one is your favorite and why?
I love the AGAINST Series that started with Against the Wind. There are 12 books total, Romantic Suspense novels that feature totally hunky, very capable guys and the women who love them. Into the Fury and Into the Whirlwind are both high action novels in the same genre. I love writing those kinds of stories.
If you could have one of your books made into a movie, which one would you pick and why?
I’ve worked on that for quite a while. Against the Storm was presented to the Lifetime channel. I think it’s paced just right for that. The Secret, set around a ranch in Montana, would make a good movie. Maybe someday….
What’s next for the Brodies?
INTO THE FIRESTORM is out February 1st of next year. It’s Luke Brodie’s story. I really loved both WHIRLWIND AND FIRESTORM, partly because of the camaraderie between Luke and Dirk. And Emma is a great heroine. She had to be special to win the heart of a tough, hunky guy like Luke.
